Come and visit if you like wilderness, mountains, cosy fires, wild swimming, walking, and generally being out of it all. There's no mobile signal unless you're on EE, no internet, no radio and no TV – great for a digital detox! 

 

We have 2.75 acres of our own land (1.115 hectares), with a big lawn, bird feeding area and observation window, and a nice chunk of woodland for you to sit in, build fires, and generally commune with nature!

 

We are 16 miles from Aberfeldy (nearest shop), so stock up before you arrive. While we say there's no internet, we always let you use our internet to check mail and of course you can use our landline for calls. Otherwise, we hope you're excited rather than otherwise by the lack of connectivity.

Some other things to know about us: 

 

• Dogs are more than welcome. We have Fergus, a bearded collie, and Louie, a Hungarian Puli adopted from Romania

• We have hens roaming around, as well as precious red squirrels and other wildlife. Please make sure your dog doesn't chase them 

• If you have little kids with you, please bring a cot - otherwise a single bed's available if they're bigger. We always try to help out if you need something specific 

• We have an extensive DVD library and several thousand books

• We have a wood-burning sauna for you to use at £15 a session

• There's a woodland nearby of 10 acres for our guests to use. It's on the river and there are swings, swimming, and trout fishing rights.

Getting here

You'll find us 20 minutes /five miles along Glen Lyon from the Aberfeldy end. The first post box and phone box are at the bottom of our drive. If you're coming from Killin, don't attempt the Lawers pass if there's been any snow. You could get stuck, and you might not get a tow out until the snow melts. If there's snow down and you only have a two-wheel drive, call us from Fortingall and we will fetch you in our 4X4.
